During Talking Smack, WWE provided an update on Madcap Moss after he was attacked by Happy Corbin last night on Friday Night SmackDown.
WWE states that Moss has suffered a "cervical contusion" from the steel chair attack. Corbin hit Moss several times with the chair and then wrapped it around his neck so that he could drop the Andre The Giant Memorial Trophy on it.
WWE states that Moss' head and neck were compressed in the chair. There were no further updates provided on when he might return to action. Obviously, this is a storyline injury but it looks like this was a reason to write him off TV for a while.
It's still not clear if this is a cover for a real injury or if there's another reason why he's being pulled from TV. For what it's worth, WrestlingNews.co has learned that there have been pitches to have Moss drop the comedy aspects from his character and there's been talk of him getting new gear and new music.
