Quite the exchange went down on Twitter following last night's episode of WWE NXT.
During last night's show, WWE NXT Superstar Josh Briggs executed a spot on Malik Blade in which he hoisted his opponent against the ropes from outside the ring, only to clothesline the rebounding Blade as he came off the ropes. Apparently, the move looked a little too similar to one performed by current AEW wrestler JD Drake.
Drake, a member of The Workhorsemen faction in AEW, wasn't shy about taking to Twitter to call out Briggs for his use of the move. Drake went as far as to suggest that this might have been an imitation spawned from the duo's time together in PROGRESS from as far back as 2015-16. During the broadcast, Drake tweeted, "At least let them know where you got it from Josh Briggs. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
Later in the match, when the clothesline spot mentioned above took place, Drake tweeted the following: "I did this in 2015-16. Worked with Josh in EVOLVE for a few years. Guess I made an impression."
