The American Tradition

"Seriously? A Hell in A Cell match just days before I'm scheduled to face Julie for the world championship?"

Phoenix Winterborn and Kim Pain were sitting on the balcony of their Buffalo, NY hotel room as they shared a drink.

"I wish I knew, Phoenix. Something tells me that this is a setup for you."

"Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Someone doesn't want me winning the world title here. Well, guess what? These two that I'm facing? They're gonna find out that I'm not one to mess with when it comes to title matches. Not only will I walk out of WAR with the Light Heavyweight title, I'll march right into Rebellion, and walk out with the world title. Then, you and I will have a nice night of celebrating."

Kim smirked at the last comment, and loosened up her blouse a bit.

"Shall I grab the camera?"

"I think so. It's time to cut up on these fools."

She smiled, and got up from her chair to head into the hotel room to grab the personal camcorder, returning with it to turn it on and focus it on the American Tradition. Phoenix cleared his throat, and smiled.

"So, the focus seems to be once again on me. I mean, not that I'm complaining all that much, but the fact of the matter is that someone is out to get me. Why else would I get thrown into a Hell in A Cell match just days before my scheduled title match against Julie at Reckless Rebellion. Seems a bit fishy, don't you agree? Oh well, it's no matter. Let's focus on WAR and this insane match that brings out the most sadistic in people. Hell in A Cell. See, Jordan Cut is someone I've beaten almost black and blue in my career. Yes, him and I have met up on several occasions throughout my extended time in this crazy business. Every single time, my hand is the one that has been raised in victory, and tonight will be no different. Simon Lee Nash on the other hand is someone that I don't believe that I have ever had the pleasure of being in the ring with. Now Simon, don't mistake my kindness for any kind of weakness. I will still beat you bloody en route to claiming the Light Heavyweight championship. The same title I will be walking into Reckless Rebellion with before I beat Julie, and re-claim the world title. Boys, I want you to know that whatever happens in that Hell in A Cell match is nothing personal. Really, it's not. But you have something that I maybe didn't originally want, but now that it's in my crosshairs en route to Julie and the world title? Best believe I'm coming for it."

With a saluting motion, Phoenix turned back to the skyline of chilly Buffalo as Kim shut off the camera, and climbed into Phoenix's lap to end the scene.
