Interviewing The Westsiders Edge For Evolution & New Blood

The locker room is where Nick Torres sits leaning back on a metal folding chair all relaxed in his ring gear and a black tee reading Da Gangstas. His hands lay on his legs and Torres swishes the toothpick in his mouth, his hair wet and down his shoulders. The Westsiders Edge just gazes off into the distance when in walks Greg Boone taking a seat near him on a bench in front of some lockers. He looks at Torres who looks back at Greg who now asks.

Hey big man, mind if I get a few words with ya?

Torres nods no saying.

Nah man, shoot!

Greg nodding ok now asks.

You ran out to help Chris Rogers and we all know your history with The Resurrector, but is there anything more to why you helped Chris, perhaps something you see in him?

Torres shrugging and smirking just says.

Well yea, I suppose so, though my intentions were mainly to help the kid out, I see something in him, the same thing I see in anyone who sticks it out in SEF for more than a month! He wants to be here and in order to keep this business going you need to help the new kids keep it going, something SEF has always been about. I’m just doing my part as I ain’t getting no younger!

Greg now asks.

So you thinking its time for Nick Torres to look to the end, to that day when the boots get hung up?

A pause from Torres who stares to the floor, then looks at Greg saying.

I been in this business for twenty years now and I struggled every damn day and I never had no machine behind me, I did it all myself just like to this very day. SEF has been great to me I will admit, but then again, in this company is where I got wrote off as dead when in reality I was out working shows wherever I could as I am good and plenty of promoters want me. It wasn’t current management that fucked me over though, so I hold no grudge against this company, just against Richard E Dangerously otherwise known as Fate. That sack of shit…

He trails off and just nods no and Greg says.

He was indeed very dangerous to SEF itself, hell, he got rid of the name SEF for a while, banned it from even being used on TV. He did have good intentions in trying to utilize younger talent, though is eyes for talent I believe slipped, but didn’t he have some disease, some cancer or something?

Torres looking up again just says.

I believe so, not sure on what it was, but something was affecting him, still, to do what he did is inexcusable. I busted my ass for this goddamn company, for Fate, for Viper, for Whitney, for the fans most of all, for myself, for my girl Stacy who is at home carrying our kid. I broke my body apart for years upon years just to find a decent place like SEF and I busted my ass even harder then. It took me a while, but I am World Champion with several reigns to boast about. Come the SEF Anniversary supershow you’ll be looking at the World Champ once again because after I win the SEF Rumble, well you know the rest!

A smirk again and Greg nodding yea asks.

So you got your eyes on the top prize again and you are in the rumble, so that is your goal now, but what about the other seven competitors you have to deal with?

They will be dealt with in whatever order I have to deal with them cause it don’t matter who I stand across from, whether its Xanthus, Ashley Pearson, Tina, Derek Helms, Jason Stratus, Shane Jericho, or Chris Rogers. Those guys and gals got one outcome, losing cause the Westsiders Edge is going back to Wrestle X and this time I be walking out the winner and new World Heavyweight Champion!

Greg now asks.

So what if you and Chris earn a Tag Title shot tonight?

Torres just smirks and says.

Then come next week you may be looking at one half of the new Tag Team Champions and the winner of the two thousand twelve SEF Rumble. I got no problem helping Chris and helping myself to another World Title reign and if he beats me, then so be it. In this match anything can happen, anyone can win and so maybe what I say cannot be guaranteed, but when has a guarantee ever been worth the price!?!

Greg nodding just asks.

Yea, yea, so your confident, cocky as usual, the arrogant asshole at his best, so who ya think is the biggest threat to ya or are they all on the same road to loserville?

Torres smirking casually just says.

I think Chris needs a lot of work as does Jason Stratus and Shane Jericho and even Tina may not be ready. She is a touch chick and come a long way in a short time, though as history as proven, that can be a downfall. Either of the four could go all the way, but then you have Xanthus, and Derek Helms with their blood feud just beginning and Ashley Pearson, all three of them veterans for sure. However, as experienced as they are, I am more so, though even I have not been in the almighty X-Cage. This is a new experience for us all, however, I have been in similar cages, like the Prison Yard at Christmas Carnage. I may have lost to Corez, but even when you lose you learn and next time, you don’t lose!

Greg nodding yea just says.

Good one, good advice, you are indeed a grizzled veteran, but still in your thirties brother, I think you got a great chance in the rumble. But what about tonight, you and Chris Rogers against the Jericho Army who ended your match last week with the Tag Champs in a no contest, a draw. Gotta be making ya want revenge, right?

Torres smirking again just shrugs saying.

Yea, well, hey, they made an impact at our expense, now they get face the music and I don’t where Chris is, but tonight I’ll be out there to whip some ass. I may not win on my own, but compared to Shane and Cody even with the help they got, its not really a comparison. Then again comparisons aren’t really fair, so I may be looking at a loss, but the Jericho Army better realize I will get the last laugh even if I have to wait until New Blood and win the SEF Rumble over Shane Jericho and all the rest involved in that match.

Greg now asks.

You think Chris will show, think ya should call him?

Torres shrugs and says.

If he loves this sport, he’ll show, otherwise I may have been wrong about him and just need to focus on the one thing that I never lost sight of, the World Title. Ya see Greg, I never let it out of my goal in SEF, I never stopped looking at the World Title as my own, but I knew the Rumble would be happening again as it is an annual event and everybody knows that who knows about SEF. That’s why I took my rematch so soon against Corez because I knew if I couldn’t beat him then, that I could by Wrestle X and mark my fucking words, Nick Torres will go to Wrestle X in the main event!

Torres swishing the toothpick around now flicks it this way into the camera lens, then he rests his hands on his legs and stands up, Greg standing now asks.

Time for one more question?

Torres nods yea and Greg asks.

If Chris no shows, what are you gonna do to him?

Torres just chuckling just asks in a sarcastic tone.

What makes ya think I’d do anything to him for missing out on an opportunity to compete in his CHOSEN profession?!?

Torres then slaps Greg on his shoulder and walks out of the room leaving him to mull it over. Greg just nods and laughs a little as he walks away and the view fades to black.
