UPDATE 2: Jeff Hardy has a new court date for his arrest on charges of felony DUI and more. PWInsider reports that the AEW star is now scheduled for a court appearance on July 5th at 2:30 PM ET regarding the arrest.
As previously noted, Hardy was set for a court appearance today but that was canceled.
UPDATE: A new report has additional details on Jeff Hardy's arrest on Monday on felony DUI charges. Fightful Select reports that AEW has not offered a comment on Hardy telling police officers when stopped that he had an upcoming doctor's appointment scheduled regarding his "head" that entailed brain scans. One source noted that from a legal perspective there is unlikely to be more about that revealed.
According to the report, after Jeff's concert and Hardys' appearance at the SlamDown VII convention, Matt Hardy made sure that Jeff got back to his hotel room and then flow back home with his family, with Jeff staying in Florida.
On one note of correction, there was some initial confusion regarding when he was arrested. The arrest was originally noted as 12:45 without an AM/PM designation and many interpreted that to mean 12:45 AM. Hardy was actually booked into jail at 12:45 PM and the actual arrest time was 9:54 AM.
Hardy had a physical license and used it to rent vehicles both in AEW and AEW, and there was no word of it having caused issues outside of North Carolina. He was charged with Driving While License Canceled/ Suspended/ Revoked, which is related to charges from his 2018 and 2019 DUI arrests in North Carolina.
ORIGINAL: Jeff Hardy was expected in court today regarding his arrest for a DUI and two other charges, but the hearing has now been canceled. The hearing was scheduled for this afternoon at 1:30 EST and no other court dates are listed, per Wrestling Inc. No word as to why this has happened.
As previously reported, Hardy has been suspended from AEW without pay according to a statement released by President Tony Khan. Hardy is reportedly open to taking up an offer of support for substance abuse. Hardy has been scheduled to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championships in a three-way ladder match this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, which has since been pulled.
