If you are a fan of wrestling or a fan of boxing then you might have quite the treat in store. Tyson Fury has shown an interest in going head to head with the WWE legend that is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. This would certainly get the fingers itching of global betting fans, who would no doubt look for the best casinos online and sports betting sites to place a bet on the outcome. Two heavyweights, both legends in their own sports, facing off would create quite the commotion.
A Fighting Comeback
Tyson Fury has announced that he is no longer interested in continuing his successful boxing career after he beat Dillian Whyte by TKO in November 2021. Should he stay true to his word, then he will be ending his fighting life with a record of 32-0-1.
However, while it may be the case that he won't step back into the square circle as a professional boxer, he has already been able to witness the steps taken by boxers such as Floyd Mayweather, who has taken part in exhibition fights, which are certainly worth a pretty decent payday. Why would he not be interested in taking part in this type of event?
When being interviewed recently, Tyson Fury discussed possible future plans and threw a few names into the ring, quite literally, with the name Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson being brought up.
However, he was quick to confirm that nothing has yet happened. He wants to spend some time taking parts in bouts that are 'not real' and that are there purely to entertain his fans. These are for fun only, nothing more or less than that. The main thing is that an exhibition match isn't as competitive. It's not as important whether you win or lose. The fighters and the fans are simply in it to have a good time and to put on a show.
However, it isn't only The Rock who interests Fury. He has also brought up the possibility of fighting other old-time boxers such as Frank Bruno, Lennox Lewis and even maybe his namesake, Mike Tyson. However, The Rock is certainly at the top of the list. So, you never know what to expect, but he's certainly got something exciting up his sleeve.
Will it happen? Who knows, the Rock hasn't piped up on the idea just yet, but it's not completely out of the picture
Good Friends
These two have a history – and a good-natured one at that, so anything could be decided down the pub over a pint. Indeed, WWE legend, Dwayne Johnson has described Tyson Fury as a good buddy – and has gone so far as to call him 'possibly the greatest of all time'.
Initially, Tyson Fury shared a clip and it went on The Rock's Instagram, where he revealed their shared love of one of the biggest boxing legends ever, Muhammed Ali. Dwayne Johnson, who is now coming up to 50 years old said "A good buddy of mine, I just saw his post, a good buddy of mine, who many of you know, if not all of you, Tyson Fury, the heavyweight champion of the world. He will go down as one of the greatest of all time, possibly the greatest of all time, he's in that conversation". Why would The Rock not want to try his luck against one of the best of all time?
They first started their friendship back in 2019 when Fury, 33 went on holiday with his family to America. He then debuted in the WWE by beating Braun Strowman at the Crown Jewel Pay-Per-Head event. He has since flirted with a return to wrestling even more recently with his online feud with Drew McIntyre, the Scottish former WWE champion.
Body Envy
Tyson Fury has famously battled with his weight – and won. However, one of the things that has most impressed Fury about The Rock is his incredible physique, despite being almost half a century old. The wrestler has been one of the few that has successfully made the transition to Hollywood's singer screen and is now one of the highest-paid action stars in the US.
He regularly posts on Social Media and one of his topless photos certainly caught Fury's attention. He shared that picture, quipping "What a shape on a man especially for his age. Respect. Ripped". Johnson is known for regularly sharing workout videos online and has amassed 200 million followers.
Although he is getting older, he still maintains a rigorous schedule and describes himself as 'the hardest worker in the room'.  He is looking to star in the biopic about Mark Kerr, the pro-wrestler turned MMA and UFC fighter.
Whether or not this will ever come about, we don't know. But these are two of the greatest in their respective fields and they are good friends. Seeing the two go head to head would certainly attract attention from across the globe – so let's hope Dwayne Johnson climbs on board and doesn't rock the boat!
