Brian “Road Dogg” James returns to WWE as VP of Live Events

WWE Hall of Famer Brian "Road Dogg" James has returned to the company as VP of Live Events, pretty much almost the same position that Jeff Jarrett held up until last week before he departed the company.

James, a trusted lieutenant of Paul Levesque during their NXT days, was released from his duties at NXT in January of this year. He previously worked on the creative team for Smackdown before shifting his focus on NXT.

What is ironic is that James has been pretty much begging Tony Khan publicly for a job with All Elite Wrestling.

"I see things on Tony Khan's TV show that appall me. I could help with that," James said recently during an interview on Busted Open radio. "I have been begging him for a job on every platform I can and I want to know the reason why he won't hire me."

In the same interview, James said that he would also love if he could go back to NXT, but not on the main roster.

"I don't know if they'd hire me back. Of course, I'd love to go back to NXT. It's really cool down there," he said. "Shawn and a couple of writers I worked with on Smackdown got a great rapport with those guys."
