Netflix is reportedly moving forward with their planned Vince McMahon docuseries.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Netflix is reportedly moving forward with their multi-part documentary series that they are producing on the life of Vince McMahon. The series was originally announced back in 2020 on a WWE led financial call. Meltzer also states that WWE is cooperating with the project, which is being led by acclaimed docuseries producer Chris Smith, who was involved in other major projects such as 'Tiger King' and 'Fyre'.
The series was reportedly pulled from Netflix's programming spreadsheet earlier this summer due to the ongoing scandals surrounding McMahon, which have seen him be accused of paying out nearly $20 million to multiple women to suppress sexual misconduct and affair allegations. On July 22, McMahon stepped down from both his CEO and creative positions within the promotion.
Despite Stephanie McMahon's previously claiming that the docuseries will release sometime in 2022, there is currently no release date or timetable for the untitled project. Fightful will continue to update fans on the status of the feature as more news is made available.
Earlier this week, McMahon celebrated his 77th birthday by partying with the likes of John Cena, Pat McAfee, Brock Lesnar, and more. To see more, click here.
