Three weeks of QR codes and mysteries: the White Rabbit timeline

When WWE started playing the song White Rabbit from American rock band Jefferson Airplane out of the blue in mid-September, fans inside arenas were left wondering what was going on.

At non-televised live events and even at TV shows, in between breaks, WWE would turn off the house lights, play the song, and then end it with red light covering the ring.

Then on the September 19 Raw, the first hint was given. A QR code appeared which led to a white rabbit playing a game of Hangman. The question of the Hangman game was "Who Killed The World?" The rabbit then jumped on the alphabet until he guessed the correct answer which was "You Did." The game ended with "Come With Me" and "9:23" flashing on the screen. Interesting to note is that when the rabbit was playing the game, the first letters he hopped on spelled DEMON.

On the September 23 Smackdown, the clues continued. The scanned QR code led to yet another teaser, a maze game where you had to lead a white rabbit to a door. When completing the game, the word Patricide and coordinates 53°32'49.5″N, 113°29'51.3″W showed up. Those were the coordinates of the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the site of the following week's Raw.

The clues on the September 26 Raw revealed more details. The QR code went to a Tik Tok video from the account @_comewithme. The video showed several old WWE footage spliced together with WWE Superstars saying "Who killed the world? You did" and "Feed your head." The video ended with the numbers 40701, a ZIP code located in southeast Kentucky, more specifically Corbin, Kentucky where there's a hotel named Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The WWE.COM page which led to the video also had some interesting "Easter eggs" in the source code, with "No man is ever truly good" and "no man is ever truly evil" embedded. Those two sentences are the opening lyrics of Aleister Black's old NXT theme song Root of All Evil by CFO$.

More Bray Wyatt hints were revealed on the September 30 Smackdown. The new QR code featured several cartoon shots of Porky Pig, Little Red Riding Hood wolf, a slaughterhouse, a morse code and also an audio message. The choice of 1911 in the URL was interesting because Bray Wyatt wore a hat with a 19/11 card on it when he portrayed the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland in a skit a few years back on WWE television. The morse code which was translated by several users on Twitter translates to Azazel Reborn. The audio message is heard if you dialed the phone number which was embedded in the source code of the page. The message is played backwards and says Bravo, Echo, Lima, Alpha, India, Romeo. Interesting to note is that one Twitter user raised the pitch by six times on the video and it's clearly Bray Wyatt's voice narrating the message. Someone carrying a sign which read "REVEL IN WHAT YOU ARE" was shown when the camera was on Smackdown commentators Michael Cole and Corey Graves. That exact wording was used by Wyatt in a tweet in 2019.

Raw on October 3 featured new clues. The WWE.COM page hosting the clue had a photo of the Samson and Delilah painting. Scrolling over with the mouse on the photo, the left side reveals "399012n" and opening it up on a mobile device, the other side reveals "751720w." Those represent the coordinates of the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 39.9012° N, 75.1720° W. Bray Wyatt had posted a similar photo of Samson and Delilah after Bliss turned on him before he vanished from WWE television the last time around.

While WWE can pull a fast one and it might not end up Bray Wyatt after all, everything points towards his return. The tattoo artist who came up with the initial concept of The Fiend's mask, Kyle A. Scarborough, uploaded a photo on Twitter of a white rabbit mask a few weeks ago, writing the words, "feed your head," adding more speculation that this is for Wyatt's return.

Whatever the case might be, this might all come to an end tonight with the reveal of the White Rabbit, a three-week angle of QR codes, mystery clues, and a whole army of wrestling fans playing detectives uncovering the meanings behind all the good madness!
