The American Tradition

This is what Phoenix Winterborn had wanted the whole time. A chance to shine. Now, after his victory over Steve Weigel last week on WAR, Phoenix is set to make history as he takes on Jake Voss for the SEF World Heavyweight Championship. Open scene on Phoenix Winterborn who is sitting on the hood of his car at a rest stop somewher ein Washington state. After defeating Weigel last week, he made no bones about wanting to get his hands on Jake Voss, and now here it is. Just days aways. Phoenix is waiting on Kim Pain to get done getting snacks from the vending machine when he pulls out his camera phone to take down some notes in the camcorder program.

"So...here we are at some bum-ass rest stop in the wettest state in the union, and I can't help but to let my mind wander to my match this week on WAR against Jake Voss. I guess this is the rubber match for us isn't it, Jake? We both have a win over the other, so I guess this final match is only fitting. Everything on the line as we head to Wrestle X at the end of the month. You are the defiant champion. The man who thinks everything is owed to him, and he doesn't have to give anyone anything. And then there's me. The returning hero. The man who wants to liberate the SEF World Championship from the oppresive hands of the man who calls himself the defiant god. Jake, in the two months that I've been back, I've already seen a lot in SEF. I'm not even lying, I think I've caught a contact high a few times walking through the halls of whatever arena we're at, but that's besides the point. You sir, are going to need to be on your A game at WAR if you wanna walk out with the title still around your waist, because the fact of the matter is this. That championship title you wear around your waist will be coming home with me if I have anything to say about it. You can talk as big a game as you want, but the fact remains. I have been telling people since I came back that I am back in SEF a changed man, and I have proven that save for a slip up against Mack. Speaking of Mack. I heard ya loud and clear, and if you want a show at the SEF World CHampionship so bad once I take it from Voss, all ya have to do is ask. You had me back a few weeks ago, this would be the least I could do to make it up to ya. But...getting back to Jake Voss."

He paused for a moment to look up at the sky. Drops of rain were gently coming down. He brushed them off, and continued.

"See Jake, when I pinned Weigel in the big tag match two weeks ago, you may not have realized it, but I was sending a message to you. I used Weigel to do it. You see, I could've gone after his title, because we all know that my winning would've been a sure thing, but you see. That message I sent to you? It was that I want the SEF World Championship. You have something that, at least I think, belongs to me. And this week on WAR? It comes home to Chi-town. It comes HOME to the American Tradition. Phoenix Winterborn, SEF World Champion...has a nice ring to it, wouldn't you think?"

He smirks, as Kim Pain comes out of the rest area with a pair of sodas and a bag of chips.

"You ready, dodo?"

"Yeah.." He looks into the camera. "Just sending a friendly little reminder to Jake Voss as to who's bitch he is."

A smirk, and a nod as he hops off the hood of the car, ending the video and scene.
