Climb That Ladder

Somewhere in one of the many abandoned buildings throughout Detroit Michigan is our resident X Phoenix who stands in a small room of what looks like the office managers home away from home, once upon a time ago. Of course with one building abandoned, a new one is built somewhere else, a better location, a more efficient location to distribute to the masses quicker. Detroit is different in that is everything a city has, but it is not that big. Detroit lives in a shadow from a city just a mere few hours west and has its own shadow of the rest of the state to the north so vast that there is another peninsula casting an even larger shadow. The big boom of the farming industry left its impact as far as the western UP leaving a few small cities as a reminder of what could have been a major milestone for Michigan. But it continues to rest on the back of Detroit. And so everyone feels it, even those who don't go here, everyone feels it.

I almost moved here...to this city...I thought about it at least, now I couldn't imagine calling anywhere else home, but I have a special place in my heart for Detroit. Its like the place in my heart for SEF and it dies with me, so it will never die. I am SEF, more than anyone else here, out of everyone who can say we are SEF, I am most of all SEF, more than anyone and that eats at some. I could care less who it eats at because I do it, I am SEF for everyone who can't be, who wants to be, who is here for SEF. And Simon Lee Nash, I fight for you too because I know you want to be SEF more than I am, but you can't. I am going to take that ladder on Friday and use it to do what you can't do at the SEF Rumble, climb up and take what you want. I will be taking that WAR TV Championship, then I will see at the rumble, oh Simon Lee Nash, I see you, I'm always watching.

 

Phoenix stepping out of the room to look around at the empty space with no remnants of what was once stored here.

Watch me scale that ladder and use it like a god to ascend my destiny and become WAR TV Champion. A title I never held Simon, and you have. I have to be careful not get greedy for wanting it, its not becoming of who I am, and I am SEF. You will know on Friday how bad I do want that title Simon, you will feel how much I want it and I will risk anything to take it from you.

 

He shouts.

X Phoenix pacing a little with his steps echoing slightly and he stops to embrace the silence.

You've got your goals this year Simon, you shoot for them, but my goal may seem a step down, for someone who is SEF, its a step in the right direction. I don't need any title to validate my career in SEF, but I can do more for the WAR TV Title than you can. It doesn't matter though because I am taking it. And it is for me because I am SEF and everything I do for me I do for SEF. That is no scapegoat either, I proved my loyalty, so have you Simon, so have others. I am simply SEF more than you. It means more sacrifice from me, but that's how I earned my name. You can bury me time after time and I will rise up and become stronger each time. Kill me if you can, survive if I let you. This place that exists in this time and this moment called SEF is mine, my home, I go where SEF goes. So if it remains here in Detroit for years to come, I be here, embracing the darkness of the city that lives in so many shadows. I'll see you on WAR Simon Lee Nash, you better be ready.
