Reawakening [War RP #2]

[Tadakatsu (忠勝)]

The camera fades on to show Tadakatsu walking backstage, once more dressed in his samurai armor as he is getting ready for his match later on in the night. Tadakatsu stops in mid-step and turns his head to look out the window towards the urban city of which they are currently residing in. Resting his hand casually on the hilt of his katana he slowly turns his body to the window as his eyes turn upwards towards the night sky.

It is a shame that you cannot see the stars from within the city. The lights burn far too bright for their subtle radiance to be nothing more than a fleeting moment when you happen to pass through a dark spot of the city. I feel the same way when I look at the one who deems himself as the Crownless King of SEF. His impact and influence was perhaps dominate at one point of time...but now, like the stars, his time has been fleeting and it has shown as such through his recent history. A warrior who has caught himself in a slump.

The gauntlet of his armor raising up to lightly touch along the surface of the glass for a moment as he breaths in deep once and then retracts his hand, letting it fall back to his side.

Just because his ability has not been all that it could be, does not mean it is not laying in that shell of a man. Dormant. Waiting for just the right moment to redeem himself. I, Tadakatsu, vow to give Mat Mattlock all that I have to provoke the dormant warrior to come out for one clash. If Mat Mattlock continues to lay, hidden away, then I shall sunder his fighting spirit and he may not come out of this match the same man he was. Mat Mattlock may end up seeking a crown after he battles with me. For after I am through with this warrior, he shall require some form of physical item to grant him a reassurance that he is still a warrior. Cling to a lie that he is still worthy.

Tadakatsu nods to himself before there is a reflection caught in the glass, Tadakatsu's eyes look to the image before he looks to the side, over his shoulder at the man he caught a glimpse of. The reflection is none other than Mat Mattlock. The moment the samurai turns around now marks the first moment that the two warriors are face to face and it seems that neither are backing down. Tadakatsu only steps forward as he leans in a little closer, his words low yet haunting as Mat first braces himself for an attack, ready to retaliate.

Did you hear everything I said? I hope so. Use it as fire in our match. Reawaken your inner warrior. Stop hiding from me...stop hiding from all of SEF. I meant every word I said and I challenge you to step up to the Warlord from the Land of the Rising Sun. Tonight in this ring, the Crownless King shall meet a Warlord. Which one shall prevail this night? I look into your eyes and I already see my victory.

With that said, Tadakatsu takes a side step and walks right passed Mat Mattlock, causing the man to follow him with his eyes before Tadakatsu stops and glances over his shoulder once more.

You do not like my claim? Then fight. I demand that you do so. There is no honor in defeating a King that has no will to fight.

Tadakatsu continues his stride as the camera pans over to look to Mat Mattlock, the look on his face being a cross between pensive and annoyed as the camera fades to black.
