Matt Cardona vs. Bully Ray Announced For 12/17 Battleground Championship Wrestli

It's finally happening; Matt Cardona will face Bully Ray.

The two stars have been trading shots on Twitter and through other means for weeks. Ray has stated that Cardona could never last a day in the original ECW, while Cardona has claimed that he is an ECW Original. He is also The Deathmatch King, as he defeated Nick Gage in a Deathmatch to win he GCW World Championship at GCW Homecoming 2021.

In a tweet on September 12, Cardona confirmed that he will face Ray at Battleground Championship's "A Tribute to the Extreme", which will be held at the 2300 Arena, the former home of ECW. D-Von Dudley, Ray's legendary tag team partner, will be in his corner for the match.

Cardona had been sidelined with a torn bicep for a few months, but he returned to the ring at NWA 74. He subsequently captured the Wrestling Showcase Championship, and he is back to wrestling all over the world.
