Former NXT UK champ Ilja Dragunov returns on NXT

Former NXT UK champion Ilja Dragunov made his return to NXT last night and showed up after JD McDonagh defeated Tyler Bate to become the number one contender for Breakker's NXT title.

But as Breakker and McDonagh had a stare down in the ring, Dragunov came out to a major pop and confronted both stars, with the show ending with Breakker holding up the NXT title.

Dragunov, who had a match of the year candidate with Gunther last August to win the NXT UK title, vacated the championship after he was injured in July. He already has a history with McDonagh as he lost to Dragunov in May in a loser leaves NXT UK match.

It's believed that Breakker vs Dragunov vs McDonagh in a triple threat match will headline Halloween Havoc next month.
