Well Rounded Aggressive Brawler: Matlock is well versed in a long of in-ring styles, but he's a master at none of them. He can go to the mat, and he can fly if need be. However he's primarily a brawler in the vain of Steve Austin. He's a rough and dirty fighter, and not fancy. However his years of experience have given him a lot of insight so he's very methodical when he wrestles. But if smells the 'blood in the water' so to speak, and he knows he can end the match quickly, he'll turn aggressive and do what he can to end the match quickly. If losing a match, he may whip out a surprise hold, takedown or submission that he doesn't often do to take his opponent off guard. He will also go to the top rope on occasion, or do a suicide dive to the outside to catch an opponent off guard.

Matlock is primarily a brawler. He's a rough, aggressive fighter in the style of Steve Austin. However he also borrows heavily from the styles of others,  adapting the power moves of The Undertaker and the submission style of Chris Benoit for his own use.

Being a ring veteran Matlock is experienced and does not make many mistakes. He's very methodical with his approach, knowing how to wrestle down a high flyer or go move to move with a match technician. However he becomes more aggressive as the tide turns in his favor.

If he's losing, he will usually pull out a surprise submission as he's not a big submission wrestler, or, very rarely, he will dive from the top rope to try and re-gain the advantage.

Matlock lifts the opponent up into a  'Razor's Edge' position. Matlock will then toss the opponent upwards, dash forward quickly and drops them with a neckbreaker. This is an inverted version of Tommy Dreamer's "Tommyhawk".

Biography
Matt Matlock is a former SEF competitor. He left several years ago after getting frsutrated with not being able to capture the SEF World Title. During his time in SEF, Matlock at one time was Chief of Staff, and battled against many of the big names of the time. Shane Mack, Viper, Whitney Marret, Xanthus, Cassie Michaels, David Blade, D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley, DeeJay George, and quite a few more, Matlock has locked horns with a lot here. He also war with Mack when Matlock was temporarily given ownership of DOGG and the companies went head to head.

Matlock has won many accolades in SEF, but the Heavyweight Title eluded him. Despite winning a match versus D-Von Dudley and being announced as champion, it was later revealed, once the real SEF Title was back, that the only heavyweight title Matt won in SEF was the old XCW Title.

Now, after many years away, he has returned to finish what he started and become the hevayweight champion of the company in which he first earned his name. Since that time Matt has been on vacation for two years, and has been back in the ring for close to one year. Some say he's better then he's ever been. Some say nothing has changed. Time will tell.

Matt Matlock steps out onto the stage, dressed to fight as always. He takes a minute to look over the crowd before walking down the ramp towards the ring while Doug introduces him.

Partway down he stops, head down and arms out to the sides as pyro shoots off down the sides of the ramp. He looks up with a cocky grin towards the crowd that boos a little, but shows little interest, as he finally enters the ring. Heading for one of the far turnbuckles he raises his arms in the air as pyrotechnics go off in the ring in a row behind, and immediately stop as he lowers his arms. He then gets down and prepares for the upcoming match.

Appearance
Commonly competes in a muscle shirt with jeans and sneakers. The jeans are usually black or blue, the muscle shirt usually orange, block, or white. Generally keeps the same attire outside the ring, except with sunglasses and a ball cap. If he's not on the card you may see him around in a leather jacket.


Extras
Matlock is a prick, and he will act as such. He's not a good guy, he's not a bad guy. He does whatever he wants to and doesn't care if the fans like it or not, the same as he always has been. He does cuss quite frequently. He will cheat to win a match if he knows he can get away with, however he will NOT intentionally get himself disqualified.

A unique mixture of brawling, strength, mat technique, dirty tactics and minor high flying. He excels at none of these truly, but the mixture is strong enough to help him match up to mostly anyone inside the ring.

Biography
The name of 'Matt Matlock' has a long and storied history with SEF. Debuting in 2003 as one half of "The New Diamonds of Sports Entertainment", Matt would fail repeatedly in attempts to become successful. Come mid 2003, he started to breakout, winning several singles titles and eventually the SEF Hardcore & World Tag Team Championships. Come the fall he would be XCW Heavyweight Champion, and would seperate from his tag team partner The Jackal after a falling out. Since that time, Matlock was a mainstay of SEF programming; he had fueds with Mack, Viper, David Blade, DeeJay George, basically any of the greats that come through SEF at one point or another. Along the way he would become a multiple time hardcore champion, and hold several versions of the mid card title, whether it be Intercontinental, United States, or otherwise. Eventually, he would "win" the SEF Heavyweight Championship from D-Von Dudley and defend it against Mack, and lose the title to him. Years later Mack revealed that the belt was in fact, not the real SEF Heavyweight Championship, but rather the XCW Title belt. After the split that resulted from the war and subsequent merger with DOGG, Mack didn't feel right putting the belt on just anyone. At the time, Matlock took this as a huge slight, basically being robbed of his status as former champion and triple crown champion, and left the company, pledging to never return. He would return though, some years later, calling himself the "Uncrowned Champion" of SEF, which in his mind, he was. He would engage in several battles with Cyclus for the United States Championship, falling each time. Matt would begin to doubt his abilities, despite finding success elsewhere. He again left SEF, but vowing that one day he would return to claim what was rightfully his. As the time nears for SEF's ten year anniversary, and also, approximately the ninth year anniversay of when Matlock first debuted for the company, the man himself has signed a new contract. He vows that this time, he will properly win what he feels is rightfully his; the SEF Heavyweight Championship, respect from his SEF peers, and a status as one of the all time greats of SEF.

Matt then makes his way into the ring, sliding under the bottom rope and heading for the far turnbuckle. He stands on the turnbuckle and extends his arms as pyro shoots off HBK style in the ring. He lowers his arms as the pyro stops, and then gets off the turnbuckle, now preparing for the match.
