Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast is reporting that WWE will be doing even more stadium shows in 2023, surpassing the eight in store for this year.
"The goal is to make this the new norm. This is a Nick Khan approach when it comes to Premium Live Events," Zarian wrote, noting that shows don't have to be full but hosting events in a scalable stadium will lead to much higher revenue and a better look.
By the time 2022 ends, WWE will have completed eight stadium shows. The Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and the two-night WrestleMania have already taken place. Money In The Bank, SummerSlam, the UK show in Cardiff, and another Saudi show will be the other four stadium shows of 2022.
Money In The Bank and SummerSlam will not take place in full stadiums – just like the Rumble – and WWE will scale each location to accommodate to their needs. Rumble had around 40,000 fans while Money In The Bank currently has 16,000 tickets sold and SummerSlam close to 20,000.
Regardless of the final number of attendance, WWE will be making more money from these shows due to an increased number of fans attending. WWE premium live events at regular arenas rarely do over 10,000 in attendance.
