UPDATE: The state of Florida is seeking to have Tammy Sytch ordered to detention before her trial on DUI manslaughter and more. PWInsider reports that Florida State Attorney R.J. Larizza filed a four-page motion on Monday arguing that Sytch "poses a threat of harm to the community" as evidenced by her previous probation violations in Pennsylvania.
Sytch is facing nine charges in relation to the car accident that resulted in the death of Julian Lasseter. Larizza's motion points out that Sytch violated probation from her DUI arrests in Pennsylvania several times which led to the probation being revoked. It also pointed out that Sytch has a suspended driver's license in Pennsylvania and has never had a valid license in Florida.
It notes:
"The State submits that there is a substantial probability that the Defendant committed DUI Manslaughter when she killed the victim on Match 25, 2022. The State also submits that Defendant poses a threat of harm to the community based on criminal history surrounding driving offenses as detailed above."
As noted, Sytch's arraignment is set for May 31st. She is currently out on bond, with court documents noting that her boyfriend James Pente put his property up as collateral.
ORIGINAL: As previously reported, Tammy Sytch was arrested after a fatal car accident in March, and charged with nine counts including DUI manslaughter. She has since posted bail. Her bond was $227,000, so she put up 10% of that and court fees.
PWInsider reports that Sytch will be arraigned on May 31 at 2:30 PM in Volusia County Court. She has been granted a public defender and ordered not to leave the county. That may be difficult for her, as she's also set for a court hearing in New Jersey on May 26 from a February arrest for eleven other charges, including DUI and reckless driving.
Meanwhile, the Ormond Beach Police Department released officer body cam footage of her arrest at the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach, Florida.
