Vince McMahon to appear live on Smackdown tonight

Rather than staying behind the scenes, Vince McMahon is doing the most Vince McMahon thing ever and tonight will face the fans live on Smackdown.

The announcement was made in a very short press release issued today, and Vince was referred to as Mr McMahon, his WWE character.

McMahon voluntarily stepped down from his role as Chairman and CEO of WWE after the Board opened an investigation into a $3 million payment to a former employee who he had a consensual affair with. The money was paid to keep the unnamed paralegal from talking about the affair or say bad things about him.

Vince will retain his creative duties during the investigation and will most likely return to his previous roles once the investigation is complete.
