Saraya was Paige in WWE, but she was left with no choice but to retire from in-ring competition in 2017. That life event for Saraya brought about a lot of changes in general. She remained relevant in other WWE roles for years after that, but she never wrestled again.
The first-ever NXT Women's Champion left the company back in July after WWE decided not to renew her contract for some reason. She then made her All Elite Wrestling debut during 'Dynamite: Grand Slam.
As previously reported, Saraya was cleared for in-ring competition in AEW. Some fans are worried that Saraya's previous neck issues will come back, while others are simply excited that she will wrestle again.
While speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette talked about Saraya being cleared in AEW. Cornette stated that he believes WWE didn't clear her, because she didn't meet their standards.
"How is that possible that if she was able to be cleared medically that the WWE wouldn't have cleared her medically specially while she was under contract to them and they were paying her? Maybe they [WWE] said well, she can't get cleared medically to our standards so maybe she should go somewhere where the standards are lower."
We will have to wait and see how AEW will be booking Saraya in the coming weeks. It is likely she will be squaring off against Britt Baker soon enough. Let's hope for the best, because WWE didn't clear her for a reason.
